Come Check It Out and Bring the Kids!
At Casa da Ponte de Mucela, kids are always welcome—that’s why we’ve put together a selection of activities they’ll love and that the whole family can enjoy together.
For the little ones, too
- A Day with the Shepherd — invites you to discover an activity that has nearly disappeared but is deeply rooted in Portugal’s mountain ranges: shepherding. It is an educational experience in the Baldios, where you’ll learn about nature, sustainability, traditions, and the role of shepherding in protecting the ecosystem. As you accompany the shepherd and the flock, you’ll discover how this ancient practice helps reduce flammable vegetation and preserve the local natural heritage in a sustainable way.
- Active outdoor activities for families —leisurely canoeing, adapted water hikes, easy trails, and interpretive walks. (Contact our partner.)
- Flavors that tell stories — recommendations from the restaurants A Estrela da Mó and As Medas, perfect for sampling chanfana and other traditional dishes.
- Beirão de Gema — respectfully transforming the very best that Nature has to offer. That’s what it means to be from Beira: being organic, being authentic, being a friend—that’s what it means to be from Beira. That’s what it means to be Beirão de Gema: Beira cuisine with identity and soul.
